My favorite knife | Knife maker Kobermeyer

Mein Lieblingsmesser | Messerschmied Kobermeyer

"Noblesse oblige" was once the unwritten law in the upper echelons of the aristocracy. This principle not only granted the nobility privileged rights but also demanded moral obligations due to their special social standing. Even the powerful Habsburg dynasty had to curtsy, albeit grudgingly, before protocol and etiquette. But every now and then, even the precious high nobility in Austria needed respite from the demanding duties of government and social obligations. One of the kings' main residences was in Wiener Neustadt, in what is now the federal state of Lower Austria. Besides its strategically advantageous location, it was above all the relaxing and tranquil surroundings where the rulers could recharge. Fortunate was he who still had a good blacksmith at court. For whether at the table or on his hip, princely rulers always appreciated a fine blade.

The legacy of this esteemed craft is carried on today with great passion by the knife maker Ingo Kobermeyer. His domain encompasses two branches, one in Wiener Neustadt and the other in Mödling. His parents and wife are always at his side, offering advice and support. The master knife forge Kobermeyer has existed for over 75 years, selling and professionally sharpening not only pocket knives but also kitchen knives, camping knives, razors , and scissors. The showroom in the Wiener Neustadt branch, however, exudes a museum-like atmosphere, where historical swords and axes from different eras and continents never fail to amaze visitors.

The highest quality is evident not only in the steel products offered, but also in the professional expertise of the Kobermeyer family. Customers appreciate the warm atmosphere in the shop, which makes them feel well-advised and comfortable at all times. And there's always time for a friendly chat .

Ingo Kobermeyer's passion for knives was ignited early on. At the age of three, he received his first Swiss Army knife from his parents. The Rambo "Akschn Fuim " series also significantly influenced his enthusiasm for knives. His favorite Böker knife, however, is far less fast-paced. " The Böker Tirpitz- Damast Wood is a superlative, historically significant knife with a Damascus steel blade that also looks fantastic. My customers really like it, not only as a collector's item but also for everyday use. " Furthermore, this "feudal Feitl" (Austrian folding knife) impresses with its flawless craftsmanship.

But the product behind the product is also excellent. The owner praises the impeccable business relationship with Böker, which has existed for 50 years and is characterized by mutual respect. Especially in these challenging times, a reliable partnership is all the more important.

Incidentally, a title of nobility is not necessary to gain the favor of the cutler Kobermeyer. Imperial service is simply available to everyone.
