We understand sustainability as an integral part of our corporate philosophy to create qualitative added value for people and the environment across generations. As a manufacturer of high-quality products, we primarily use renewable raw materials and are holistically aware of our ecological, economic, and social responsibility, so we continuously and consistently question our actions with regard to optimizing all operational processes. We feel committed to our environment and try to treat it responsibly and sustainably every day.

Our concept of sustainability begins with the careful selection of materials from preferred local partners and culminates in the lifetime guarantee on our knives. Böker has stood for this absolute commitment to quality for more than 150 years and responsibly carries this legacy forward to future generations through continuously improved working conditions for its employees and apprentices. Across the entire value chain, we reduce material and resource consumption and return surplus material to the production process. We exclusively use selected and certified materials for our knives that meet our high quality standards and prove their worth through their long service life.

The free Böker resharpening service significantly extends the service life of the knives and at the same time avoids unnecessary material waste compared to cheap disposable knives – because, in our understanding, longevity is a cornerstone of sustainability.

Nature is our greatest supplier, which is why we want to give something back to it. In 2020, as part of the Böker Tree Planting Campaign, an extensive reforestation project was implemented in cooperation with the FWV Bergisches Land, in which over 12,000 young trees were planted in the Bergisches Land region. We see this measure as the starting signal for further reducing our ecological footprint and plan further interesting projects in the future to continue the idea of sustainability.
