Steam engine damascus

Dampfmaschinen-Damast

150 years of knives from Böker! That's definitely a very good reason to celebrate. And of course, we want to share this memorable anniversary with all our customers and fans. Therefore, we present to you here a truly exceptional series with unique models.

The Damascus blades of these exclusive knives are, quite literally, a piece of living history from the Böker manufactory. In the "old days," before electricity became commonplace, steam power was the primary energy source for the numerous machines in production. This centrally generated steam power was channeled throughout the entire factory to the individual machines via large flywheels and transmission belts, thus driving the various machinery. One of these enormous transmission wheels still stands today as a memento on our company premises, keeping alive the memory of our company's beginnings and the transformation we have undergone in the last century and a half. We have taken a solid section from the shaft of this transmission wheel and are using it to forge the 180-layer Damascus steel in the Raindrop pattern, crafted by Chad Nichols for this exclusive anniversary edition.

Thus, every owner of a knife from this series holds a genuine and authentic piece of Böker history in their hands. We wish this unique process of creating this rare blade material, and the associated effort, to be understood as a token of our appreciation to our customers who have supported us with their loyalty, devotion, and enjoyment of our products for over 15 decades. Each of these knives features handle scales whose historical significance is almost equal to that of the blade itself: the Böker tree logo is known to have originated from a giant chestnut tree that stood on our original company grounds. And although this chestnut tree was felled by a storm in the early 20th century, the smoked chestnut wood of the handle scales uniquely reflects the memory of the origin of the world-famous logo in every single piece of this series. A special anniversary emblem, inlaid in the scales, adds a touch of elegance. Each of these knives is handcrafted in our Solingen manufactory and strictly limited to 150 pieces worldwide. Delivery includes an individual serial number in an anniversary frame display and a certificate of authenticity.
