Description
Description
Aragorn II was born as son of Arathorn and Gilraen in Eriador and grew up after the death of his father in Rivendell, where he was raised by Elrond. Only when Aragorn was 20 years old did Elrond reveal to him his real name and the duties and regulations associated with it. He also received Ring of Barahir and the Shards of Narsil. Before the beginning of the War of the Ring he had Narsil reforged and renamed it Andúril, the Flame of the West. The reforging was not easy and only the Noldor in Rivendell were able to master this difficult task, because they had to adhere strictly to old rituals. Although Aragorn was already proclaimed King Elessar during the march to the Black Gate, the coronation took place after the battle. In the course of his reign, Gondor flourished, peace and trade agreements as well as numerous alliances were made and even the Oath of Eorl was renewed.
