Description
The late William F. Moran Jr., better known as Bill Moran, was a legend in the knifemaking community. As the founder of the American Bladesmith Society (ABS), he was instrumental in the rediscovery of hand-forged Damascus steel. In 1995, Spyderco had the honor of collaborating with him on their first fixed-blade knife, an interpretation of his "Featherlight" pattern. To commemorate the 30th anniversary of this model and Bill's 100th birthday, Spyderco proudly presents a stunning Sprint Run version of the Moran Upswept. The flat-ground blade is crafted from Damasteel's "Dense Twist" DS93X Martensitic Damascus Patterned Steel. This remarkable material consists of two distinct hardenable knife steels expertly forged to provide superior strength, outstanding edge retention, excellent corrosion resistance, and a stunning Damascus pattern. The blade is injection-molded with a glass-fiber reinforced nylon (FRN) handle in a striking gray and inlaid with black elastomer rubber plates for a secure, non-slip grip. For a special touch, this limited-edition knife comes with a beautifully crafted genuine leather sheath. It's sure to be a coveted collector's item.
