Warnings and safety information:

Warning and safety information: Cut injuries: The most common danger when using knives is the risk of cuts. Sharp blades can quickly penetrate skin and tissue. Slipping of the knife: Improper or excessive pressure can cause the knife to slip, resulting in uncontrolled movements that can cause injuries. Injuries due to falls: Knives should never be left unsecured or near table edges to prevent them from falling and injuring someone. Blunt knives: Blunt knives pose a greater risk of injury as they require more force and can slip more easily. Knives should therefore be properly sharpened regularly. Improper use: Using a knife for tasks for which it is not intended, such as as a lever tool, can not only damage the blade, but also lead to accidents.

Description

A piece of history brought vividly to life. The Tirpitz, sister ship of the legendary Bismarck, was the largest battleship ever commissioned by the German Navy. Launched in February 1941, the Tirpitz quickly became a constant strategic threat to the Western Allied navies in the North Atlantic. Numerous attempts were made to neutralize this heavily armed colossus. After suffering severe damage from British Royal Air Force air raids in September 1944, the battleship was rendered immobile and stationed near the Norwegian coast at Tromsø. On November 12, 1944, the Tirpitz was finally struck by specially developed “Tallboy” bombs, causing the ship to capsize in shallow waters. Following the end of the Second World War, a Norwegian salvage company began recovering the wreck, reclaiming its highly alloyed steel for civilian applications. Scientists showed particular interest in this material, which was subsequently used in advanced measurement technology and even aerospace research. Exclusively for Böker, Norwegian divers have now recovered original sections of the Tirpitz’s armored steel from the fjord. These historic materials are forged by Böker’s Damascus specialist into an extraordinary Damascus steel with a remarkable provenance. The impressive “Great Pyramids” pattern, featuring more than 300 layers, defines the powerful 4-inch blade and makes this knife a centerpiece of any serious collection. The combination of Tirpitz steel and carbon tool steels results in an exceptionally rugged Damascus with a hardness of 62 HRC ±1, delivering outstanding cutting performance. The handle is crafted from high-strength AlMgSi1 aluminum, whose silicon content offers superior quality over standard AlMg3 alloys. A hardcoat anodized finish ensures durability and a secure grip. The reversible pocket clip allows for both tip-up and tip-down carry. For the handle inlay, locally sourced walnut wood was selected—a material historically favored for German rifle stocks due to its excellent mechanical properties. This striking inlay is further enhanced by the original Tirpitz crest, adding an unmistakable historical signature. The Böker Tirpitz-Damast unites history, tradition, and modern engineering in a truly exceptional way. It is delivered in a premium presentation box, complete with a certificate of authenticity and an individual serial number, underscoring its exclusivity.
