Even as a child, he was exposed to weapons and knives through his father's passion and became familiar with their diversity: " As a young lad, I regularly went to summer camp with the Catholic Youth. A knife was practically mandatory for every young boy. So, lots of boys, lots of different knives. That's how you get to know the variety of different knives; that's how the foundation was laid." Many years in the specialist trade sharpened his senses, enabling him to serve his customers precisely in a relaxed atmosphere without any military drill.
Almost simultaneously with the founding of his business, Hermann-Josef Bender was able to win over Böker for his company. Thanks to the Böker sales representative, who also had an interest in weapons and knives, a trusting business relationship developed, which is continually renewed with new knives and interesting anecdotes. For me, the blade length is ideal, whether cutting packing tape and cardboard boxes at work or slicing a hot sausage after cleaning the knife at the end of the day, it's perfect. And as is often the case in life, if you're convinced of a product yourself, you can promote and sell it with a clear conscience."
