Founded in 1879 and located in Töngesgasse near Frankfurt's Zeil since the 1950s, the specialist shop, under the management of trained knife maker Andrea Müller, stands for tradition, expertise and dedication:
"My passion for knives has always been there. I can't pinpoint exactly when or through what event this passion was ignited. Handling various knives was part of everyday life in our family, and it began in childhood with wood carving using my first camping knife. Even as a child, I loved helping out in my father's steel goods shop, serving customers, and learning about the properties and craftsmanship of knives."
And so it happened, as it had to: I decided to train as a knife maker. At the end of my apprenticeship, I even had the opportunity to visit several traditional knife manufacturers, including a week-long stay at the Böker factory in Solingen. There, I gained fascinating insights into a wide variety of work processes and was even allowed to help with production. These experiences reinforced my desire to join our family business, which I now run with great enthusiasm, continuing the tradition. I am delighted when I can ignite our customers' passion for sharp knives, scissors, or other beautiful items. Our comprehensive range of services, such as professional sharpening, repairs, sharpening seminars, cutlery restoration, and silver plating, offers added value.
Many of my customers already have extensive collections. I, on the other hand, keep my own collection rather manageable and expand it selectively with particularly chosen pieces or when one of my favorite knives is discontinued. This is also the case with the Böker Scout Thuja. Should this wonderful knife ever be discontinued, I will certainly add one to my display case at home. This beautifully crafted classic sits comfortably and securely in the hand and impresses with its thoughtful quality even when closed. Elegant and functional at the same time; the blade stop is invisible, making it very comfortable to carry in a trouser pocket.
What also impressed me about this pocket knife was its high-quality craftsmanship: a sturdy nickel silver body produced using a sintering process, a hollow-ground blade forged by Böhler from stainless N690 steel, and comfortably shaped handle scales made of elegant thuja wood make the Böker Scout Thuja the ideal everyday companion. Safe handling of a knife is particularly important to me – I speak from experience. Its robust backlock mechanism and the curved front bolsters, which prevent accidental slippage onto the blade, ensure safe handling. Personally, I prefer the version with thuja wood, which perfectly complements the harmonious design of this classic knife.
The relationship between us and the Böker factory dates back to the founding of our company around 140 years ago and is based on mutual trust, open communication, and good cooperation.
