Description
Description
In order to improve one's skills in Japanese martial arts such as Iaido, Aikido, Kenjutsu or Kendo, a wooden sword, the Bokken, is usually used for training purposes. Instead of using sharp blades like a Katana or Wakizashi, the practice sword with a blunt edge and rounded tip is a much less risky way of practising various forms of techniques.
As a refreshing alternative to the Bokken, the Magnum Kiai combines the best of both worlds. Thanks to modern materials, attention to detail and true-to-life dimensions in terms of size and weight, the training sword can be used to perform everything from partner exercises to fixed sequences of movements (kata) in a realistic manner.
The Magnum Kiai corresponds to the dimensions of a traditional Katana sword and is characterised by maximum resistance and shock elasticity, which are achieved by a clever material mix of polypropylene and glass fibre. Eye-catching details such as the blood groove (Bo-Hi), the hardening line (Hamon) or the handle winding (Tsukamaki) give the training sword added decorative value.
Depending on individual skill or the chosen discipline, the tsuba (blade, hand guard) in the Maru-Gata (round) shape can be easily mounted or removed.
