Description
Description
The two knives in the Dönges Expert series are specialized tools for tough and demanding rescue operations. What
the two knives have in common is the scales made of red G10 with a non-slip Dönges honeycomb structure,
blades made of edge retention and rust resistant D2 steel and a glass breaker. Both knives have multiple
cutting edges that are uncompromisingly designed for cutting ropes, harnesses and the clothing of injured
persons. The Expert series consists of a locking knife with two blades and a fixed knife.
The only fixed blade in the series has a double-edged blade. The underside is ground smoothly along its entire length. There is a sharp serrated edge on the back for fibrous materials. A belt-cutter is located behind the tip of the blade at the back. The tip is designed as a blunt lever point, but is deliberately ground thin. This means that it can be driven into very narrow gaps with little force, such as the gaps in nailed-up boxes or between the frame and door of jammed fuse boxes. The full-tang design has distinctive parrying elements, the upper one of which is designed as an integrated cap lifter. The knife fits securely in the supplied Kydex sheath and can also be secured with a detachable push-button latch made of fiber-reinforced synthetic material. The sheath can be attached to the equipment either with a modular clip made of stainless steel or with cable ties through the rivet-reinforced holes.
