The owner came into contact with knives as a child. At around the age of five, his parents gave him a Swiss Army Knife (SAK), which accompanied him constantly from then on. At sixteen, he discovered his passion for hiking and trekking, which further ignited his interest in knives and their diverse uses. Wurzelkraxler was founded in 2016 and initially began with courses and workshops in the areas of nature, the outdoors, and self-sufficiency. Beekeeping, which his wife started in 2016, also played a significant role. In 2018, the equipment division was added, focusing on high-quality knives and outdoor tools. In 2019, the company relocated from Weiden in der Oberpfalz to Selb, and at the same time, a vacation home rental service was added, bringing customers even closer to nature.
