In addition to classic materials that have characterized the popular models of the Böker razor range for many decades, we are constantly searching for modern and innovative combinations of natural materials that inspire enthusiasm due to their unique appearance or feel. White gold, sea snails, and abalone are just a few synonyms for abalone. These mollusks, which attach themselves several meters below the surface of the water off the coasts of Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Mexico, and South Africa, are considered a delicacy and, due to their desirability, have historically sparked gang wars.
Today, this precious natural product is cultivated in aquaculture farms. The beautiful, almost artificially shimmering shells of these popular mollusks have long been used as decorative objects, everyday items, or as raw material for jewelry, inlays, or mother-of-pearl brooches. Paua are also shellfish from the abalone family, but unlike abalone, they are found only in the pristine coastal waters of New Zealand. They have served the Maori as traditional body adornment for centuries and are still used today to decorate figurines, weapons, and meeting houses. The impressive handle scales are absolutely unique in color and pattern and are featured for the first time in the Böker razor range. Using state-of-the-art manufacturing processes, a wafer-thin layer of colorful abalone or paua is applied to a base material and encased in transparent acrylic.
The resulting highly durable material is ideally suited for crafting razor handles and impresses with its exceptional play of colors and three-dimensional appearance. All razors in this series feature double-sided serration and are, of course, ground with an extra-hollow edge and a resonant groove (Klang). The authentic Böker stamp is stamped into the blade tang before hardening, thus identifying each of our Solingen quality products. Delivery includes a certificate of authenticity and historical packaging. Handcrafted in the Böker knife manufactory in Solingen.
