150 years of Boker

150 Jahre Böker

Since 1869, the famous knives bearing the world-renowned Boker tree logo have been handcrafted in the blade city of Solingen. We are filled with great pride when we look back on our continuous history, on the eventful story our company has experienced over the past 15 decades. And we also see this as a great obligation to remain true to our philosophy.

Today, we look back on 150 years of company history, during which the Boker manufactory has continuously and without interruption, keeping a close eye on the market and driving innovation in the knife industry. With new ideas, but also by upholding our traditional values and committed to sustainable environmental practices, our product range stands for the highest quality and unparalleled diversity. The long history of Boker is marked by eventful times. However, one thing has remained constant throughout 150 years: our passion and enthusiasm for exceptional knives. The international success of our product range, as well as the long tradition of our knife manufactory, are both an incentive and an obligation for us to continue designing and producing high-quality and innovative knives in the future.

The balanced blend of traditional knives and the high value placed on handcraftsmanship in our Solingen manufactory, combined with our extensive vertical integration and proverbial attention to detail, along with innovative and pioneering projects utilizing state-of-the-art CNC technology, appeals to a very broad spectrum of knife enthusiasts and users, securing our leading market position in the field of sporting knives across Europe. The overwhelmingly positive feedback we receive from our international clientele confirms that we are on the right track.

We are celebrating our 150th anniversary with a wealth of spectacular projects, which you will find on the following pages. A comprehensive anniversary series with monosteel blades, as well as a series of very special Damascus knives, where every buyer holds an authentic piece of Boker history in their hands, are just some of the highlights. For the new Boker Steam Engine Damascus knife, we had a section of the shaft from the enormous transmission wheel of the original 19th-century steam engine forged into the blade. This historic piece is on display on our company premises. Thus, every buyer owns a unique knife and holds not just a symbolic, but a genuine, physical piece of our Boker history.
