Böker Damascus Annual Knife 2021

Böker Damast Jahresmesser 2021

For our 2021 Damascus Steel Knife of the Year, we chose the popular Böker Trapper Uno, which, thanks to its exceptionally slim design, is the perfect everyday companion and owes its name to the American woodsmen of the settler era. While the traditional version of the knife features upper and lower bolsters, the Trapper Uno omits the bolsters at the end of the handle.

This exquisite collector's edition features a hand-forged, ripple-pattern Damascus steel blade by Chad Nichols. It opens with a nail nick and does not lock. The exceptional handle scales are crafted from locally sourced, blue-stabilized curly maple, displaying a unique, striped cross-grain pattern. Combined with the decorative brass bolsters, this creates the colors of the city of Solingen, with the front bolster also adorned with the city's well-known coat of arms. While two crossed swords symbolize the city's significance as a center for high-quality cutlery, the anchor represents Saint Clement, the city's patron saint since the 10th century. Handcrafted at the Böker manufactory in Solingen, this knife is strictly limited to 999 pieces worldwide. It comes with an elegant floating display, a certificate of authenticity, and an individual serial number.

Ten euros from the proceeds of every knife sold are donated to the Solingen Child Protection Association, which has been actively supporting children and parents in need in our city for over 40 years. Children, in particular, are suffering from the significant economic and social challenges that have arisen and intensified here in Solingen as a result of the global pandemic. Under the motto "Helping people help themselves," the association's dedicated social workers advise families and provide support and expertise to parents in difficult situations. The Child Protection Association also sells well-preserved toys, books, and clothing for babies, children, and adults at its Solingen clothing store. All proceeds are used to fund ongoing projects and support child and youth welfare services. In addition, the Child Protection Association offers ongoing homework assistance for elementary school children and fosters a love of learning.
