Description
Description
Filipino culture, in which martial arts play an important role, looks back on a long tradition. One of the best-known tools is the ginunting. It is a powerful weapon that may have been derived from a binangon, which was used as a tool on the farm or in the garden. Adam Boyce, also known as Spartan Mode, comes from Idaho and is a close associate of TOPS. In 2018, he reached out to TOPS for the opportunity to be a contestant on the Forged in Fire spinoff show Knife or Death. He ended up being an alternate contestant and was unable to participate, but the X16 Ginunting was prototyped for him to be used in the show if he was selected. A few years later, when TOPS was rummaging through boxes of old models and prototypes in the warehouse, they came across one of the Ginuntings they had built and decided it was time to make the fixed blade a real TOPS model. The massive 1095 blade is ideally suited as a chopping and bushcraft knife for outdoor use and ties in with the original agricultural design. With ergonomic Micarta handle scales and a perfectly fitting Kydex sheath.
