Description
Description
The Bokken, usually referred to as Bokuto in Japan, is a wooden sword used primarily in Japanese martial arts such as Laido, Aikido, Kenjutsu or Kendo. Instead of using sharp swords such as the Katana or Wakizashi, the wooden variant is a much less risky way to train various forms of exercise. Due to its natural dimensions in size and weight, the Bokken can be used to realistically perform everything from partner exercises to fixed sequences of movements (kata). The small Magnum Tanto made of unvarnished white oak corresponds to the dimensions of a knife and is particularly suitable for practicing disarming techniques. Treating the wood with oil (e.g. Boker camellia oil) gives it additional protection against dirt and moisture and increases the grip in sweaty hands compared to lacquered wood.
