Warnings and safety information:

Warning and safety information: Cut injuries: The most common danger when using knives is the risk of cuts. Sharp blades can quickly penetrate skin and tissue. Slipping of the knife: Improper or excessive pressure can cause the knife to slip, resulting in uncontrolled movements that can cause injuries. Injuries due to falls: Knives should never be left unsecured or near table edges to prevent them from falling and injuring someone. Blunt knives: Blunt knives pose a greater risk of injury as they require more force and can slip more easily. Knives should therefore be properly sharpened regularly. Improper use: Using a knife for tasks for which it is not intended, such as as a lever tool, can not only damage the blade, but also lead to accidents.

Description

Signature Edition: For collectors and connoisseurs, this is one of only five exclusive examples featuring Lucas Burnley’s engraved signature on the blade.

Minimalist design, robust full-metal construction, and a high-alloy tool steel: the Boker BFF Packlite Vanadis 4 Extra SuperClean combines the distinctive design language of US knifemaker Lucas Burnley with a configuration focused on EDC, outdoor use, and versatile cutting tasks. As a fixed-blade skeleton knife, neck knife, and hanging knife, this all-metal knife offers functional construction and flexible carry options.

The drop-point blade made from Vanadis 4 Extra SuperClean with a Rockwell hardness of HRC 61 is aimed at users who particularly value extreme wear resistance, high edge stability, and excellent toughness. Vanadis 4 Extra SuperClean is a powder metallurgy tool steel from Uddeholm, developed for applications where high wear resistance and toughness are required simultaneously. SuperClean powder metallurgy creates an exceptionally clean and homogeneous microstructure with finely distributed carbides, providing the foundation for the steel's outstanding performance.

One of its defining characteristics is its very high wear resistance. Its relatively high vanadium content promotes the formation of hard vanadium carbides, which provide exceptional resistance to abrasive wear. At the same time, Vanadis 4 Extra SuperClean offers notably good toughness compared with many other highly wear-resistant tool steels. This creates an appealing combination of a long-lasting cutting edge and high resistance to chipping. The hardness of HRC 61 further supports high edge retention and stable cutting performance.

An important difference compared with stainless steels such as Elmax or N690 is the lower corrosion resistance of Vanadis 4 Extra SuperClean. It is not stainless and should therefore be properly maintained and kept dry after exposure to moisture. For users willing to provide that care in exchange for exceptional wear resistance and a highly stable cutting edge, this steel offers a particularly interesting alternative. Its powder metallurgy production also supports consistent carbide distribution and stable edge geometry.

The open full-metal skeleton construction emphasizes the minimalist character of the BFF Packlite. Jimping along the spine helps improve control during precise cutting tasks. The fitted Kydex sheath with ball chain allows flexible neck or hanging carry and complements the versatile EDC configuration.

Whether used as an EDC knife, neck knife, outdoor knife, or compact backup knife, the Boker BFF Packlite Vanadis 4 Extra SuperClean is aimed at knife enthusiasts who prefer a high-performance tool steel with exceptional wear resistance, high hardness, and very good toughness. The combination of Vanadis 4 Extra SuperClean at HRC 61, Lucas Burnley design, full-metal construction, and Kydex sheath makes this fixed-blade knife a particularly interesting choice for demanding cutting tasks.
