Description
Description
Minimalist design, robust full-metal construction, and a modern stainless knife steel: the Boker BFF Packlite Nitro-X7 combines the distinctive design language of US knifemaker Lucas Burnley with a functional configuration for EDC, outdoor use, and versatile cutting tasks. As a fixed-blade skeleton knife, neck knife, and hanging knife, this all-metal knife offers straightforward construction and flexible carry options.
The drop-point blade made from Nitro-X7 with a Rockwell hardness of HRC 59 focuses on a balanced combination of edge retention, toughness, edge stability, and corrosion resistance. Nitro-X7 is a modern, nitrogen-alloyed stainless martensitic knife steel developed by Buderus Edelstahl. Its composition of approximately 15% chromium together with carbon, nitrogen, molybdenum, and vanadium produces a fine carbide and nitride structure. This allows Nitro-X7 to combine good wear resistance with excellent edge stability and strong resistance to corrosion.
One of the defining strengths of Nitro-X7 is its edge stability. The steel was specifically developed for knife applications and is capable of supporting a fine, high-performance edge with strong lateral stability. Compared with many highly alloyed powder-metallurgy steels, Nitro-X7 can also be relatively straightforward to work with and sharpen. At HRC 59, the BFF Packlite offers a balanced relationship between hardness, toughness, and everyday usability. Nitro-X7 does not target the extreme wear resistance of steels such as CPM S90V or CPM S110V; instead, it stands out through its well-rounded combination of corrosion resistance, toughness, and cutting-edge stability.
The open full-metal skeleton construction emphasizes the knife's minimalist character while allowing different grip positions. Jimping along the spine helps improve control during precise cutting tasks. The fitted Kydex sheath with ball chain allows flexible neck or hanging carry, making the BFF Packlite a practical addition to EDC and outdoor gear.
Whether used as an EDC knife, neck knife, outdoor knife, or compact backup knife, the Boker BFF Packlite Nitro-X7 is aimed at users who prefer a corrosion-resistant, tough knife steel with a stable cutting edge. The combination of Nitro-X7 at HRC 59, Lucas Burnley design, full-metal construction, and Kydex sheath makes this fixed-blade knife a versatile companion for everyday and outdoor use.
