The Squail with its blade length of four inches (10.16 cm) is definitely playing in the league of the full-size folders. The blade made of 440C offers a generously sized opening hole as well as fine matte finish that harmonizes excellently with the likewise matte titanium cheeks. The covering of burnished linen micarta doesn't only match the understated, elegant overall picture beautifully but also provides plenty of grip in all conditions. Gutes Messer - aber als Einhand Messer für mich in begrenzten Masse nicht zu gebrauchen. Darum 2 Punkte Abzug

Verarbeitung sehr gut, tolles Messer, ACHTUNG Menschen mit kleineren Händen sollten etwas vorsichtig bei der Öffnung des Messers mit dem Daumen. Bei schnellerer Ausführung kann der Daumen am unteren Anfang in die ausgeklingte Klinge hineinrutschen. Trotz meiner fachkundigen Erfahrung. Mein Tipp , Mit Rechten Hand das Messer festhalten. Mit der linken Hand öffnen.

Neues EDC

Ein durchwegs wertiges EDC Messer mit erstklassiger Daumenauflage. Dadurch sehr leicht und handlich zu führen. Einzig die Leinenmikartagriffschalen würde ich mir für meine großen Hände etwas fülliger wünschen, deswegen nur 9 von 10. Ob es der in täglicher Dauerbelastung meinen Ansprüchen genügt wird sich zeigen. Es fühlt sich in der Hosentasche besser an, als mein seit vielen Jahren geführtes Buck 110. Ob es an dessen Qualität im Dauerbetrieb heranreicht wird sich weisen. Es macht bis jetzt einen sehr brauchbaren Eindruck. Bin gespannt, ob der Linerlock dem häufigen Gebrauch standhält.

Perfekter Alltagsbegleiter in Top-Qualität!

Ich bin absolut begeistert von diesem wunderschönen Messer. Insbesondere die Haptik und optische Präzision (Klingengang und Arretierung) haben mich absolut überzeugt. Bewusst habe ich auch die 440-C Version gewählt, weil dies für meine Bedürfnisse vollkommen ausreicht und auch, weil sich dieser hochwertige (und oft unterschätzter) Stahl sehr einfach nachschleifen lässt.

Superb finish

The knife is well made, with very good fit and finish.
Everything lines up well, blade is centered and has no recognizable play and the micarta scales is blended well to the frame. And, contrary to product photos, the handle comes predrilled for either tip-up or tip-down carry.
The blade comes sharp out of the box with a nice finish. Too early to tell how well it holds an edge, but 440C should be pretty good for my uses. And, alot cheaper than the VG10 version!
Action is smooth, with a distinct click upon locking of the blade.
And, speaking of the linerlock, while it locks very well, it is kind of hard to unlock, caused by it both being very stiff, and flush with the frame. I imagine it will be hard to unlock with cold fingers, and it's the only reason I didn't give the knife a 10 rating.
All in all, a beautifull, sturdy and well made knife with classic lines.
