The gently curved handles are made of certified imported grenadilla wood. From the very first contact with the Boker Saga knife series, the successful ergonomics become clear: every bend, every curve in the line nestles in its place in the hand and conveys absolute control and a superior cutting experience. The dovetail-like widened handle end of the larger models brings additional grip security. Boker Saga owes its high stability to the completely continuous tang that runs through the knife (in the same design as many hunting knives) from the tip of the blade to the end of the handle. The special accent is set by the large hollow rivets, which unmistakably bear the signature of Jesper Voxnaes.
To complement this fine handle material, we have selected hand-forged, stainless steel damascus from Chad Nichols. This premium 200-layer damascus features a hardness of 60 HRC and delights with its fine, high-contrast pattern fade. While classic, non-rust-bearing damascus can be forged and folded in an open forge, the pre-layered piles of rust-bearing damascus must be forged together under vacuum at great expense. As is well known, the damascus steels forged by Chad Nichols are not only convincing due to their exclusive appearance in the kitchen, but also in particular due to the excellent edge retention and the high suitability for everyday use of the beautiful material. Delivery is made with a certificate of authenticity and an individual serial number. Handmade in the Boker Knife Manufactory in Solingen and strictly limited to 15 copies worldwide.
The chef's knife is one of the most important knives in the kitchen and is part of the basic standard equipment. It has a slightly wider and longer blade than the all-purpose knife. The slender tip is excellent for cutting onions or small vegetables. Thanks to its length, it can also be used as a meat knife. Even large vegetables can be processed easily with it.
Warning and safety information:
Cut injuries: The most common danger when using knives is the risk of cuts. Sharp blades can quickly penetrate skin and tissue.
Slipping of the knife: Improper or excessive pressure can cause the knife to slip, resulting in uncontrolled movements that can cause injuries.
Injuries due to falls: Knives should never be left unsecured or near table edges to prevent them from falling and injuring someone.
Blunt knives: Blunt knives pose a greater risk of injury as they require more force and can slip more easily. Knives should therefore be properly sharpened regularly.
Improper use: Using a knife for tasks for which it is not intended (e.g. as a lever tool) can not only damage the blade, but also lead to accidents.
