Originally a manufacturer of premium scalpel blades, the American enterprise Havalon has taken a decisive developmental step and transformed a highly specialized instrument that is difficult to use on the go into a highly transportable, versatile pocket knife that does outstanding service for hunters and fishermen for dressing and dismembering chores. The scalpel sharp blade is quickly replaced without tools, while the grip design with the proven liner lock requires no adjustments or familiarization from the user. When the blade loses its sharpness after extensive use, one simply reaches for one of the 12 replacement blades (model Piranta) or 5 piece replacement blades (model Baracuta) included with each knife, therefore having an extremely sharp knife ready for use within seconds. Various blade shapes for dressing, filleting, etc, provide the right concept for any purpose. The comfortable, pocket knife-like operation with thumb stud and the belt pouch, which not only houses the knife but also the replacement blades, are testimony to the refined development work and practicality of this concept.
