Jens Anso's focus is on the discerning user. The result of his collaboration with the Research and Development department at Boker is a knife series that combines perfect function with purist design and outstanding ergonomics. In keeping with the high-quality concept, a first-class selection of materials has been chosen to further emphasise the functionality of these exceptional knives. The knives of the Boker Damast Pure series are not collector's items for the display case, but demand daily use.
For years, Boker has been working very successfully with the US American damasus blacksmith Chad Nichols from Mississippi. He is one of the most innovative blacksmiths in the world and impresses the international knife scene with his forged, stainless damascus steel. It goes without saying that he was the right and competent contact person when it came to choosing the right blade material for this series. Together they decided on 200 layers of forged and stainless damascus steel supplied with the attractive Boomerang pattern. The blades not only provide an extremely attractive appearance due to the contrasting and unique grain, but are also perfectly balanced, easily able to cope with all cutting tasks and are razor-sharp. The handle scales are made of smoked oak and are very comfortable to hold thanks to their ergonomic shape. Supplied with a certificate of authenticity and an individual serial number. Handmade in the Boker Knife Manufactory in Solingen and strictly limited to 15 pieces worldwide.
The lard knife, or all-purpose knife, is a very handy mixture of a chef's knife and a paring knife. The most common use of the all-purpose knife in the kitchen is processing fruit and vegetables, which can be both peeled and cut with it. But it can also be used to conveniently cut smaller pieces of fish and meat. Since the knife, which is ground on both sides, is used very often, it should not be missing from any kitchen.
Warning and safety information:
Cut injuries: The most common danger when using knives is the risk of cuts. Sharp blades can quickly penetrate skin and tissue.
Slipping of the knife: Improper or excessive pressure can cause the knife to slip, resulting in uncontrolled movements that can cause injuries.
Injuries due to falls: Knives should never be left unsecured or near table edges to prevent them from falling and injuring someone.
Blunt knives: Blunt knives pose a greater risk of injury as they require more force and can slip more easily. Knives should therefore be properly sharpened regularly.
Improper use: Using a knife for tasks for which it is not intended (e.g. as a lever tool) can not only damage the blade, but also lead to accidents.
