For 60 years, Muela from Spain has been one of Europe's leading manufacturers of classic hunting knives. Founded in 1952 by Eladio Muela, the family business is now run with the involvement of all five of his children. Since its beginnings in a small workshop, Muela has evolved into a highly technological manufacturer with an annual production of approximately 350,000 Spanish knives. Despite modern, computer-aided production, handcraftsmanship remains paramount. The intricate processing of staghorn, a Muela specialty, is particularly difficult to replicate by machine. This requires the extensive experience of the experts who prepare and assemble the knife handles and scales by hand. All production steps are carried out in-house at Muela, including the manufacture of the high-quality leather sheaths.
