Karesuando

Karesuando is a village in Lapland, in the far north of Sweden. It lies directly on the banks of the Kaaresuvanto River, which here marks the border with Finland. In Karesuando, 250 km north of the Arctic Circle, in the land of moose, reindeer, the midnight sun, and the Northern Lights, Nordic knives are handcrafted according to ancient traditions. Karesuando has been manufacturing knives since 1975 and has produced over a million blades since then. Only natural, traditional materials are used, such as oiled curly birch and reindeer antler for the handles, and select cowhide leather for the sheaths.
