Hultafors

The measure of all things - for some an aspiration, for Karl-Hilmer Johansson Kollén once a reality; and in a dual sense. In 1883, the aspiring engineer succeeded in popularizing the metric system in Sweden with the invention of the folding rule, today better known as the "Zollstock" (a German term for a carpenter's rule). A large market was quickly recognized and needed to be served. Factories were established, but after a short time, they reached their capacity limits until they finally relocated to the Swedish village of Hultafors in 1907 to optimally utilize the infrastructure and hydropower. What started with one measuring tool evolved into a comprehensive product portfolio for engineers, architects, and craftsmen. Today, the product range includes axes, knives, hammers, chisels, saws, lever tools, and measuring instruments of all kinds – naturally, all state-of-the-art; the measure of all things!
