This month we are delighted to tell you about Gabriele Furtner and her long-standing commitment to the family business Souvenir Furtner in Oberammergau. "I have been working in this business for 40 years, first as an employee and for 26 years as a self-employed person. My passion for knives began at an early age, when I was given my first knife for hunting mushrooms at the age of 5." Over time, an enthusiasm for high-quality knives developed, which is also reflected in the wide range of products.
The traditional store, founded by her grandmother Maria Furtner in 1960, offers a wide range of souvenir knives and other gift items. Since taking over the business in 1998, the range has expanded to include other renowned knife companies such as Boker, which has resulted in a pleasant business relationship. "I particularly like the Scalpel from Boker Plus - the simple elegance and the option of wearing it as a necklace make it a special piece. A top price-performance ratio and it goes down particularly well with knife lovers."
The store in Oberammergau, surrounded by the picturesque Ammergau Alps, invites you to discover and browse. Customers can expect a wide selection of traditional and modern gift items, from cowbells and cuckoo clocks to colorful scarves and warm accessories for cold days. The original Alpine herbal pillows are particularly popular, with fans even traveling from far and wide to buy them.
