I
Gerrit and Andy, better known under the name of "Naturensöhne" (sons of nature), on their Youtube channel inspire more than 490,000 followers with their entertaining content from bushcrafting, camping, hiking and equipment testing.
More than two years ago, we started working with the two Berliners on the concept of their own Naturensöhne knife. Due to their nomination for the 3rd episode of the Youtube success format 7 vs. Wild, where seven teams have to survive in the wilderness with self-selected pieces of equipment, the requirements for our joint project have become even more challenging. Since all the equipment had to be stored together in a 1 L Nalgene bottle, we had to completely rethink the dimensions of the robust outdoor knife.
The result is the Naturensöhne MK. I: a special version of our Outdoor/Bushcraft success model Böker Bronco. While the full-size handle securely encloses the full tang and ensures the usual excellent hand position and grip, the blade offers exactly what is expected from the most important tool during uncompromising outdoor use in 14-day Canada: Exceptional edge retention, shock load tolerance, fracture resilience and shatter resistance. This is made possible not only by the powder metallurgical blade steel CPM 3V, but also by the appealing premium coating Hardur, which is used exclusively on high-quality cutting and punching tools. The approx. 5µm thick Hardur coating, which also includes the cutting phase, increases the service life of the blade significantly and also ensures a friction-reduced surface.
As lovers of a True Scandi, the choice of blade grind was without alternative for the Sons of Nature. The advantages are obvious: the extremely sharp bevel does not require a secondary phase. Especially when batoning, the Scandi demonstrates very good cleaving properties and a high degree of stability, since the entire blade thickness is maintained over about 2/3 of the blade height. The resulting higher weight of the blade also provides more mass when chopping than a flat grind. The thermoplastic TPE is used for the handle material. This is indestructible and, in addition to a perfect hand position, ensures the desired work safety in both dry and wet conditions.
The premium equipment is rounded off by a compact Kydex sheath which, thanks to the included Ulticlip, ensures that the most important tool does not fail.
Completely made in the Boker Manufactory Solingen. It should be at the state-of-the-art of technical possibilities and offer optimal functionality with regard to modern needs. For this purpose, it should have the following characteristics:

- Universal and optimal usability for all professional outdoor users such as bushcrafters, campcrafters, survivalists, cross-country hikers, hunters, SAR teams and others. - A blade made of CPM steel at the highest level of metallurgical possibilities - A handle that fits comfortably in the hand even when working for long periods of time, completely encloses the tang throughout and does not dissipate heat from the hand when cold - A high quality leather sheath that can be worn with or without a dangler and that protects the knife from loss and damage. And of course 100% manufacturing in Solingen/Germany - A moderate price with regard to the equipment

We were able to meet these ambitious requirements in the following way: The CPM-3V was developed by Crucible Industries LLC - the specialist and worldwide market leader in powder metallurgical steels - to provide unprecedented shock-load tolerance, breakage elasticity and splinter resistance with a phenomenal edge retention and hardness of 61±1 HRC. These properties of the powder-metallurgical carbon steel were achieved, among other things, by a precisely adjusted chromium content of 7.5%. In this way, the positive properties of the alloying element Cr, such as the increase in wear resistance and hardenability, could be utilised while maintaining a fine microstructure. The universal wide drop-point blade with a high-set saber grind has always been the hunter's preferred shape for both big and small game and is also suitable for both fine tasks such as stick feathering and for the more coarse, such as the obligatory batoning. The tang is continuous and protrudes a few millimetres from the end of the handle. This ensures maximum stability and the tang can also withstand powerful blows with a log or other object. A short part of the back of the blade forms sharp 90° edges on both sides for striking with the optionally available fire starter. TPE - thermoplastic elastomer - was chosen as the handle material, which completely encloses the tang and has a structure that provides a good grip in any loading direction. TPE is resistant, elastic, non-slip and has low heat conductivity. The knife therefore lies securely in the hand in all weather and working conditions and does not drain the strength from the fingers in wet and cold conditions. Compared to conventional elastomers, TPE also has the advantage of reducing the burden on the environment during production, as this is carried out purely physically and the lengthy and energy-consuming vulcanisation of chemically cross-linked elastomers is not necessary.

The knife is equipped with a quiver leather sheath - the supreme discipline in sheath construction - with a deep and firm fit of the knife. The knife is thus protected in the best possible way against both loss and damage when carried, without requiring a damage-prone lock that makes quick access difficult. A removable dangler allows for either a high carrying position on the belt or a low position under the hip belt of the touring backpack.

This makes the Boker BRONCO a compact, versatile and indispensable wilderness and survival tool that is up to any situation.
Boker Bowie Stag - A Timeless Classic Reimagined
Rooted in history, reborn in Solingen.
Inspired by the original 19th-century designs, the Boker Bowie embodies the spirit of the American frontier with German craftsmanship at its finest. Knives instead of controllers. Survival instead of delivery pizza. What sounds improbable became reality when Trymacs (Hamburg) and Rumathra (Bonn) teamed up for Season 3 of 7 vs. Wild, facing a 14-day survival challenge in the Canadian wilderness. Together, the two leading figures of the German streaming and gaming scene reach more than four million followers across Twitch, YouTube, and Instagram.
As part of their intensive preparation for this extreme experience—where all personal equipment had to fit inside a single 1-liter Nalgene bottle—choosing the right gear was critical. In close collaboration with Rumathra, who visited the Boker workshop in Solingen several times, a knife was developed that meets the exact demands of this extraordinary adventure.
The foundation for this special model is the Boker Plus Vigtig, originally designed by Dave Wenger. With its compact dimensions (overall length: 7.68 in; blade thickness: 4 mm), the knife fits perfectly into the bottle while remaining capable of the toughest outdoor tasks. The blade steel selected was CPM MagnaCut, a modern high-performance steel developed specifically for knife making. Often described as a “miracle steel,” MagnaCut combines a fine microstructure with exceptional toughness and impact resistance, despite its high chromium content of 10.7% and a hardness exceeding 62 HRC ±1.
Paired with a True Scandi grind and a durable stonewashed finish, the blade excels in every challenge—from precise cutting and carving for shelter construction and firewood preparation to batoning, chopping, and game processing.
To maximize usable space inside the Nalgene bottle, the green canvas Micarta handle scales were designed slightly flatter than those of the standard version, while still offering a secure grip—even in wet conditions. A particularly clever feature is hidden within the handle itself: instead of hollow pins, two large screws can be removed using a coin, revealing a 14 mm deep internal storage compartment. This space can accommodate essentials such as tweezers, tinder, charcoal tablets, a compact fishing kit, or safety pins.
Even without handle scales, as a skeletonized knife, the Boker Vigtig vs. Wild—entirely handcrafted in Solingen—cuts an impressive figure and highlights the versatility of this special edition. Now, the Scout is more modern and dynamic, while not appearing obtrusive or even aggressive. It creates a perfect harmony with the ergonomically shaped handle made from sintered nickel silver. No one can say today if anyone would have expected that the Pocketknife would be one of the most successful and popular Knifes from our range. But these many years in short-lived fads, that are also not unusual on the knife market, is definitely special. While no other model has had as many versions as the Scout over the years, the basic specifications never changed. The extremely stable body is from a single piece nickel silver which is produced by sintering. The hollow ground blade made of stainless N690 contributes with its memorable shape to the incomparable appearance of the Scout. A classic Backlock keeps the blade safely open. When the knife is opened, the spine locks into a notch on the back of the blade. To close the knife, push down the exposed part of the spine. The Boker Barlow Prime Tirpitz Damascus, which is much more compact than the original model, is not only convincing in the collector's showcase, but also as a gentleman's knife suitable for a pocket. The blade is made of the unique Tirpitz Damascus, is supplied with a modern, elongated ricasso and opens with a nail nick. The sister ship of the legendary Bismarck was the largest battleship ever launched for the German Navy.

Immediately after the end of the Second World War, a Norwegian specialist company began to cannibalise the ship, which had sunk off the Norwegian coast, in order to make the high-alloy steel available for civilian purposes. Norwegian divers recovered parts of the Tirpitz's special armour from the fjord for Boker. From these pieces of living history, the Boker damascus smith exclusively forges an extraordinary damascus supplied with fascinating history. The Great Pyramid pattern in 200 layers distinguishes the hand-forged Damascus blade and makes the knife a highlight of any knife collection. However, the combination of Tirpitz steel with carbon tool steels also results in an extremely durable Damascus that, with a Rockwell hardness of 61 to 63 HRC, is up to any task in everyday use.

The operating safety of the history-steeped slipjoint pocket knife is further enhanced by a 90-degree locking mechanism when opening and closing. Known as the baselard, it typically served as a secondary weapon and was not issued as standard equipment, but privately acquired by the soldiers themselves.
Following the extraordinary Twisted Damascus edition, Boker now presents the Swiss Dagger in Mosaic Damascus—one of the most demanding and prestigious forms of Damascus forging. Considered the pinnacle of the bladesmith’s art, Mosaic Damascus transforms this historic dagger into an exceptional centerpiece for any serious collection.
Unlike conventional Damascus, Mosaic Damascus is not created by layering steel. Instead, complex Damascus bars are painstakingly forged by hand into a mosaic through an intricate, multi-stage process. Initially stacked layers are cut apart, rearranged, and re-forged in staggered configurations to create a distinct pattern at the ends of the bar. This process is repeated multiple times, with each iteration refining and intensifying the uniqueness of the pattern. In the final stage, the individual elements are assembled and forged into a square billet, where the ends of the bars form an entirely new surface. Forging temperature, deformation rate, and material flow must be perfectly synchronized—an exceptionally demanding discipline mastered by only a few smiths worldwide.
For the Boker Swiss Dagger Mosaic Damast, this process is executed to perfection by renowned Damascus bladesmith Chad Nichols. The double-edged blade, sharpened to a fine point, features the historically accurate diamond-shaped cross section, prized for its outstanding stability and effectiveness.
Characteristic of the Swiss dagger are the distinctive curved pommel and crossguard, a design tradition traceable to the early 13th century and faithfully preserved in this handcrafted edition. Among historians and connoisseurs, the 8.8 cm Flak—originally developed as an anti-aircraft gun—is widely regarded as one of the most versatile and effective artillery pieces of WW II. While designed for air defense, it earned its legendary reputation primarily through its exceptional performance in ground combat. At a time when most contemporary anti-tank guns, with calibers ranging from 3.7 cm to 7.5 cm, struggled against increasingly heavy armor, the 8.8 cm Flak stood apart. It proved capable of reliably penetrating formidable targets such as the British Matilda II and the Soviet T-34, even at distances of up to 2,000 meters (1.25 miles). A key factor was its unusual ability to depress the barrel below the horizontal plane—an uncommon feature for an anti-aircraft gun—allowing effective engagement of ground targets. Mounted on a column base with four cross-shaped outriggers, the gun could also rotate a full 360 degrees. Speed was another defining characteristic of the Eight-Eight. Rapid assembly and disassembly of the cross mount enabled swift repositioning, while its semi-automatic action—with delayed barrel recoil—allowed a high rate of fire. After each shot, the breech opened automatically, cocked the firing mechanism, and ejected the spent cartridge. A well-trained crew of typically nine soldiers could achieve up to 20 rounds per minute. Statistically, this resulted in approximately 9 out of 1,000 incoming aircraft being shot down—a figure that remains one of the highest effective firing rates in the history of anti-aircraft artillery. The 8.8 cm Flak also contributed significantly to the reputation of other historic weapons. As the primary armament of the Tiger I tank, and later the Nashorn tank destroyer, it further cemented its status as an engineering benchmark—one already honored by Boker in previous Damascus collector projects. The Acht-Acht (8.8) Flak Damast is realized as a fully developed dagger with a distinctly medieval aesthetic. At its core is a slender yet imposing 7.2-inch blade, forged from authentic components of an original 8.8 cm Flak. The handle features a scroll turned from locally stabilized hornbeam, accented by 16 precisely cut jimpings. The 5 mm thick stainless-steel guard subtly echoes the proportions of the Flak’s transport-folded cross mount, while the solid stainless-steel pommel discreetly reflects the silhouette of the deployed base.
The dagger is paired with a dark brown leather sheath featuring a belt loop and localized reinforcement for secure carry. It is presented in an elegant stoBokerbox and includes a certificate of authenticity and an individual serial number, underscoring its exclusive collector status.

With the classically elegant Boker MG-42 Damast Dagger, the legacy of Boker’s historic Damascus steel projects is crowned with another exceptional collector’s piece. The MG-42 stands as one of the most internationally recognized milestones in weapons engineering—renowned for its revolutionary manufacturing methods, exceptional reliability, ease of operation, and an unprecedented rate of fire. As the war progressed, raw materials and production time became decisive factors. Although highly effective, the MG-34 proved too complex and resource-intensive to manufacture. The Army Ordnance Office therefore sought a successor that would retain functional excellence while significantly streamlining production. The new machine gun was also intended to serve as a standardized weapon across multiple roles, including infantry, anti-aircraft, airborne, and emplacement use.
Rather than tasking a traditional weapons designer, the project was entrusted to Werner Gruner, a mechanical engineer at the Johannes Großfuß metal and lacquerware factory. Supported by experienced firearms specialists, Gruner focused not on refining performance, but on optimizing manufacturing efficiency. The consistent use of stamped sheet metal in place of milled components—and the deliberate omission of precision in non-functional areas—resulted in a weapon that surpassed its predecessor in reliability while dramatically reducing production time and cost. Outstanding performance under all weather conditions, rapid barrel changes within seconds, and a remarkable cyclic rate of 1,500 rounds per minute (25 rounds per second) quickly established the MG-42’s formidable reputation. A braking system using additional mass in the breech assembly allowed the rate of fire to be reduced to approximately 700 rounds per minute, lowering ammunition consumption. These technical achievements were made possible by a cam-controlled roller locking system. In a modified form, the MG-42 remains in service today as the MG 3, the standard machine gun of the German armed forces. Rare original examples from the Second World War now command prices between $40,000 and $60,000 at Rock Island Auctions. Authentic MG-42 steel forms the heart of this extraordinary dagger. Forged by Boker’s longtime partner Chad Nichols, the double-edged blade features discreet fullers on both sides and is crafted in the Low Layer Raindrop Damascus pattern (40 layers). The symmetrical blade geometry beautifully accentuates the pattern’s depth and movement. The guard and pommel are machined from solid stainless steel. The pommel incorporates design elements inspired by the cooling fins and gas ports of the MG-42’s recoil booster—originally a multifunctional component serving as recoil amplifier, flash suppressor, and barrel guide. Here, form once again follows function, as the grooves enhance grip security, particularly in reverse handling. Guard and pommel seamlessly frame the barrel-shaped hornbeam handle, whose ergonomic profile naturally centers the dagger in the hand. The dagger is paired with a high-quality dark brown leather sheath featuring a belt loop and localized reinforcement for durability.
Presented in an elegant frame-style display case that creates a floating effect, the MG-42 Damast Dagger includes a certificate of authenticity and an individual serial number, underscoring its status as a distinguished collector’s item.

The Boker P08-Damast boot dagger uniquely bridges the world of fine knives with historic military heritage. Adopted as the standard sidearm of the German armed forces during both World Wars, the P08 quickly achieved international recognition. As early as 1914, it was in service with the armies of Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Turkey, and remained a highly sought-after trophy weapon until the end of the Second World War. Manufacturing the pistol required approximately 14 kilograms of steel, and its intricate design demanded unprecedented precision, setting new standards in firearms production. Its unmistakable silhouette secured a lasting place in popular culture, unrivaled by almost any other pistol.
The Boker P08-Damast incorporates defining design elements of this iconic firearm and features a truly unique Damascus blade forged from original P08 barrel steel. The exceptional Damascus is hand-forged by renowned bladesmith Chad Nichols in the distinctive Boomerang pattern. The compact boot dagger is fitted with handle scales crafted from certified imported rosewood, echoing the classic, understated checkering of the P08’s grip. Even the mounting screws mirror the construction used on the original pistol, while the angle of the handle sides reflects the conical profile of the exposed barrel. The bolsters and pommel are made from steel and finished with a dark stonewashed surface, lending the dagger a restrained, tactical elegance. The knife is supplied with a high-quality black leather sheath featuring a sewn-in Ulticlip, allowing secure attachment while enabling quick and effortless draw. The locking spring clip ensures the sheath remains firmly in place at all times. Handcrafted in the Boker Knife Manufactory in Solingen, the P08-Damast is delivered with a premium floating display, a certificate of authenticity, and an individual serial number, affirming its status as an exceptional collector’s piece. Only two years later, the now world-famous AK-47 was officially put into service as the "7.62 mm Awtomat Kalasshnikova obraztsa 1947". Even then, the simple and reliable design as a gas pressure loader with a rotary head breech, the consistent use of sheet metal stampings that could be produced quickly and inexpensively, and the adherence to a cartridge class introduced by the Wehrmacht with the StG 44 with an average performance between submachine gun and rifle ammunition were trend-setting to this day. These features resulted in the Kalashnikov system being the most widely built and replicated handgun in history, with an estimated 100 million made worldwide today.

Introduced in 1959 along with the AKM, the revised variant of the AK-47, the bayonet was no less revolutionary and formative for later designs than the famous assault rifle itself. The concept was based on a knife originally developed by R. Todorov for combat swimmers. It marked a move away from long bayonets, which were used purely as stabbing weapons, to a short, mountable utility knife with insulated wire shears and a multifunctional back saw.

Mikhail Kalashnikov personally visited the Boker Manufactory in Solingen in 2002 and officially introduced the Boker Kalashnikov line of knives to the public. More than 70 years after the AK-47 entered service, we now present a truly exceptional special edition model of the knife line and once again honour his brilliant engineering achievement. The Boker Kalashnikov Bayonet Damascus is equipped with a unique Damascus blade made from the steel of the 6Ch3 and 6Ch4 bayonets according to the GRAU index of the former Soviet Army and decorated with the signature of General Kalashnikov. The stainless Damascus by Chad Nichols consists of 80 layers and is forged by hand in the Virus pattern. It features an unusually intricate pattern that is the result of a very controlled forging process. The blade with the pandur tip adopted from the bayonets is opened with the help of the thumb stud and locked by a sturdy linerlock.

The handle is CNC machined from a block of 6061-T6 aluminium and then hardcoat anodized black. The stabilized inlays are made of domestic hornbeam wood, reminiscent of the stock wood of the famous assault rifle, and together form the shape of the forend's distinctive vents. The Russian Amber Shellac colour of the original stocks has been precisely matched. They are also CNC milled from the solid and inserted by hand. All screws and the clip (tip-up/r) are also black anodized. Handmade in the Boker Knife Manufactory in Solingen. The Tirpitz, sister ship of the legendary Bismarck, was the largest battleship ever launched for the German Navy. After the commissioning in February 1941, the Tirpitz soon became a permanent threat for the Western Allies Navy in the Northern Atlantic. History tells of many attempts to destroy this mighty weapon-loaded colossus. After the Tirpitz was heavily damaged by air attacks from the British Royal Air Force in September 1944, the ship was placed stationary at the Norwegian coast at Tromsö. Once again, the Tirpitz was the primary target for heavy attacks of the Royal Air Force.
